Check it out. Do you need to how much your bunk beds are going to cost to build? Below you will find the materials listed so you can price your project. In our area, the wood cost in May of 2013 for the bed was about $127 USD. Your cost may vary some but it should not be a great difference. It has been in use every day for 17 years and is still as solid as a rock. The storage drawers are still the bomb for quickly getting the room cleaned up of toys. Take a look at the pictures on our sturdy bunk bed plans page to see three people standing in one drawer and five grown-ups on the top bunk!

    Awesome bunk beds!!

Posted by Lisa on 6th Jan 2015

I bought plans for the twin over twin bunk beds. I consider myself still as a beginner in woodworking. Amazingly, I completed this project. I have 8 kids. So yes, it is amazing!! The plans are great! Sent my oldest two to Home Depot for their 1st shopping trip alone (18yr and 17yr old boys). Only thing they goofed on was bringing home birch plywood!! Yep, returned. But worth the trip, time, money and effort. I did most of the work but a couple boys did help me get my wood cut and screws drilled in. It came together beautifully. Mission accomplished!! Now I have the other boys wanting the same bunk beds and the girls wanting a triple bunk. Thanks for the great beds that will last us forever!

Great Plans-Thorough and easy to follow

Posted by Unknown on 6th Jun 2013

We purchased plans and hardware for the stackable twin bunk beds. We have a 2 year and another one on the way. We live in a very small house and the two kids will be sharing a room. We are using just one of the beds as a twin for now and when the new one is old enough for a bed, will set it up as bunk beds. The plans were very easy to follow and very well written. My only complaint is that some of the drawings are repetitious and some details are left out of the drawings but between the written instructions and drawings, it's easy to figure out. They contain a lot of great tips. My husband and I are somewhat handy but these plans made it really easy. TAKE THE ADVICE WRITTEN IN THEM!! We bought our lumber at Home Depot and had to go through several boards to pick good ones (we could have done better) they also cut everything for free which saved a huge step and time. The project took a while but that was due to busy schedules, a long Minnesota winter/spring and a two year old! We finally got the beds done and they went together with no problems!!! We will be buying plans in the future for the full sized bunk beds for our cabin--since we're pros now!! I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking. You are going to get much better quality that anything that you would buy in the store.
