Trundle Bed Plans showing how to build a Trundle Bed. The Pea Patch Picket Fence Bed and Trundle has a picket fence bed style headboard and footboard. The trundle bed drawer has higher sides to hide the lower mattress when not in use. It measures 86 1/2"L x 42 1/2"W. The headboard is 39"H while the footboard is 25"H. All of our trundle bed plans are designed to easily accommodate adult weight and quite a bit more. It uses widely available easy to obtain materials and two standard single size mattresses but can be modified easily to hold extra long mattresses by lengthening the rails. An extra long will fit in the top bed if the bookshelf is removed. You can build this set even if you have little or no woodworking experience using just using a circular saw, an electric drill, a power sander and a few hand tools.
