 The Pea Patch Picket Fence Twin and Trundle Bed Set Plans detail building a twin bed and trundle that holds twin size mattresses. The trundle bed hides the lower mattress when not in use. Of all models of beds that we built, this was always our best seller in our retail store outselling all of our bunk beds. That is because of its dramatic appearance. The majority of the Pea Patch beds that we built were painted white and we used colored bedding to make it pop. It is a great alternative to a bunk bed because it sleeps two but is easier to get in and out of. The drawer can be used as a storage drawer instead. If you have the occasional guest that needs the trundle bed, you can keep an inflatable mattress or a foam mattress in the closet for these situations and replace the items that are stowed in the drawer with the mattress for the duration of the stay.

Measurements of the finished Trundle bed are as follows; 34 inches tall, by 42" wide (84" with trundle open), by 86 ½” long and holds two standard twin mattresses. The headboard is 39"H while the footboard is 25"H. This bed, like all of the beds in our lineup, is designed to be very safe and sturdy. It will hold the weight of several adults at once (not suggesting they would be very comfortable). This is designed to last. If you follow our plans, you can get professional results.
